Welcome to The Open Source Solar Project

OSSP is a collaborative, open, multi-lingual effort to gather information, resources, and tools on photovoltaic system design, installation and use. The mission of the project is to improve practices, user experiences and safety in areas of the world where there are not well-developed standards or appropriate training available. The project aims to be both a direct resource in these areas and to serve as a readily-adaptable base for the development of training materials that are tailored to the needs and standards of a particular area. OSSP is open and license-free running on the same platform as Wikipedia - start contributing.

Guidelines:

  • Infomation must be acessible and practical for an audience with a varying level of technology literacy.
  • Concepts that are universal should remain universal. Information or resources that are location specific should be added to a country page.
  • Graphics or content added must be in the public domain.
  • Graphics should avoid including text to enable them to be used in various languages.
  • This is not a platform for the promotion of commercial products.

Consult the User's Guide for information on using the wiki software.
